Cattlechain connects farmers to consumers guaranteeing full traceability of beef and dairy products from Farm to Fork. The project team has developed a new generation of AI algorithms that will improve devices’ smartness and facilitate information sharing throughout the supply chain. Last November, 2021 Cattlechain’ partners from Digitanimal and FIWARE visited the city of Lleida in Spain to join Datagri 4th edition and present Cattlechain’s state-of-the-art, blockchain integration and improved wearables. The team participated in the Forum Day – with speaker slots in round tables on animal production and animal welfare -, as well as in the Farming Day – with an exhibition stand at ETSEA (Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieria Agraria).
Cattlechain aims to engage farmers, public entities, farm associations and cooperatives in the usage of IoT, AI and blockchain based platforms to improve livestock farming and EU standards for animal welfare. During the event, we had the opportunity to meet main representatives of these stakeholder groups and talk to them. Natalia Moreno Sánchez (DG for Rural Development, Innovation and Forestry Policy at the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food), introduces the plans of the Ministry to support digitalization and entrepreneurship with smart technologies and open communities, announcing the upcoming launch of a powered by FIWARE DIH that will streamline innovation and digitalisation through challenges for entrepreneurs to develop smart solutions adapted to farmer’s needs.
